I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve thought this or actually done this in my biz… quit, had enough and thrown in the towel and been like f*ck this its too hard… and just walked away.
In the moment it has felt like THE ONLY ANSWER, the only way to make all the self doubt, fear and frustration go away.
But here’s what happened when I quit…. I never got to know what I was fully capable of. Quitting was my ‘way out’ when the going got tough. To play the victim and blame the outside circumstances on me not ‘making it’.
Now theres are really different feeling when your quitting cause its too hard and your afraid your not capable of the growth needed to move through the feeling or situation….
You know the feeling right? Maybe you know someone else you’ve seen do it, or maybe you’ve even done it yourself.
It’s this sneaky, cheeky part of us that says “yo, I’ll keep ya safe from the unkown. Just stay here in your comfort zone of what you ‘know to be true’ and we’ll hang out, get pizza, hide away from everyone, find other distraction and stay ‘safe’… promise… you’ll be ok”
ummmmm…. no… just no!
It’s only in the past few years I’ve come to see that this ‘safety mechanism’, albeit an bloody good one at the time, is a growth killer.
You see situations, events, people… they happen in life…. they turn up when the universe sees you are ready for the growth (you might not think you are, but you have been on some level asking for it).
It’s just that quitting, at the time, feels waaaay easier than feeling into what ever is going on in your biz…
And the struggle can feel so real…
Here’s the thing… in one way shape form or another, the lesson that you are avoiding by quitting will show up in another way in your biz.
The universe knows when you’re ready to grow.. you just gotta trust her that she’s got you, and trust you that you go you.
Those glass ceilings don’ go away if you quit…. you just gotta figure out how to move through it.
T H R O U G H I T!
Sometimes is a gentle lean, sometimes is a bursting through, sometimes, it just falls away, sometimes you gotta chip away at it… and anything in between.
What ever way, you gotta go through it babe.
So on those days, in those moments that you wanna say ‘fuck it, I quit’…. take a step back, centre yourself and ask yourself….
where’s my growth in this, what do I need to do differently, how is it serving me to be stuck here and how is it no longer serving me to be stuck here….. and see what really comes up.
Don’t quit just before the finish line! I can guarantee that if you ‘find a way with love and the openness and willingness to explore’… you will find a way.
Ready move through that glass ceiling, and start that biz you have always wanted to in the outdoors, adventure, travel and exploring…. we’ll sista, then lets do this!
